Does PokéSurvivor run on a school Chromebook?

PokéSurvivor is an HTML5 game, so a Chromebook runs it in Chrome just like a PC or Mac, with no install. On a school-managed Chromebook the administrator controls which websites, extensions and downloads are allowed: if pokesurvivor.com is filtered, it will not load, and the itch.io download may be blocked too. Some tips when it is allowed:

  • Lower graphics quality in Settings (or leave it on automatic) if an older Chromebook struggles; the FPS counter helps you check.
  • Sign in with an account so your progress is in the cloud, and press the Save button (top right) before you close the game or switch to another device.
  • Play with the keyboard (WASD or arrow keys) or plug in a controller; see the full controls.

The official offline version (itch.io)

The developer’s itch.io page offers a download. Unzip it and open index.html in your browser. Opened from a file, the game runs in local mode: you play solo and accounts and saves live only in that browser. Co-op, cloud saves and leaderboards need the online version. Patch notes for the online game are on our updates page.

Safety reminders

  • The only official website is pokesurvivor.com; the only official download is on itch.io. Since 14 October 2026 copies on other domains run in local mode and show a notice about the official site.
  • The game is free with no purchases: nobody needs your password, payment details or a "verification" download to give you tickets, coins, codes or Pokémon.
  • There is no official APK, code system, crypto token or NFT. More in the PokéSurvivor FAQ.

Playing on other devices

Wherever the game loads, you can play with the keyboard, a touchscreen in landscape or, since 18 October 2026, most Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and USB or Bluetooth controllers. Settings also has a manual aim option and lets you move the on-screen buttons on phones. Every key, button and layout option is explained on the PokéSurvivor controls page; new players can start with the beginner guide.

FAQ

Is there a PokéSurvivor unblocked version?

There is no special "unblocked" edition. PokéSurvivor is a free HTML5 game on its official website, pokesurvivor.com, plus an official offline download on itch.io. Whether it loads at school depends on your school’s network filter. Third-party "unblocked" mirrors are not made by the developer: they can be outdated, carry ads or malware, and they run without cloud saves, co-op or leaderboards.

Does PokéSurvivor work on a school Chromebook?

Technically yes: it runs in Chrome like any modern browser game and needs no install. On a school-managed Chromebook the administrator decides which sites and downloads are allowed, so it may be blocked. Follow your school’s rules and play at home if it is not permitted.

Do unblocked mirror sites keep my progress?

Not in the cloud. Since 14 October 2026 the game only connects to its cloud (accounts, cloud saves, co-op) on the official website; a copy hosted on another domain runs in local mode and shows a notice that the only official site is pokesurvivor.com.

Are "unblocked" game files from other sites safe?

Not necessarily. The developer only publishes the online game at pokesurvivor.com and the zip on its itch.io page, so any .exe, zip or "unblocked" copy from elsewhere is unofficial, may be outdated and could be unsafe to run on a school or home computer.
