PokéSurvivor co-op guide (up to 4 players)

Last updated · Unofficial fan guide · Facts checked against the official site and game source

PokéSurvivor supports online co-op for up to four players through its friends list. Here is how to set it up and how to play well as a team.

How to start a co-op run

  1. Create or sign in to an account (name + password, or Google). Co-op needs cloud features.
  2. Open Friends in the main menu and add friends by their nickname.
  3. Invite them to your room. Up to 4 players fit in one room.
  4. Start the run when everyone is in. The host's game drives the session.
Connections are made directly between browsers, like a video call, which the game's privacy notice points out means teammates can in principle see each other's IP address. Only play with people you trust.

How co-op differs from solo

  • Shared experience: the team levels together.
  • Revives: stand next to a fallen teammate to bring them back.
  • Rifts: the whole group enters the legendary arena together.
  • Pauses: choosing a held item or a bond fusion pauses the run for everyone; if the host switches tabs or stalls, the run pauses until they return (12 Oct changes).
  • Leaderboards: there are separate solo and group rankings.

Team roles that work

  • Crowd clearer: meteors, chains and bursts (Rock Slide, Thunderbolt, Heat Wave).
  • Tank: a high-HP partner with an aura (Discharge, Bulldoze) holding the horde.
  • Support: slows (Bubble, Powder Snow, Hail) and high speed to reach fallen allies.
  • Boss killer: evolved beams and projectiles for rift fights.

Mix types so the team always has a super-effective answer (×1.6) to whatever single-type horde appears. Build ideas are on the builds page.

Leaderboards

Rankings measure time survived. You can filter solo or group, from today to all-time (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, all-time), by friends and by Pokémon. Runs shorter than one minute do not count, and since 13 October every other run counts (the anti-cheat checks were removed).

Troubleshooting

  • If the room keeps retrying, one of the networks may block direct connections; try a different network (for example, mobile hotspot).
  • Keep the game tab in front: if the host switches away, everyone pauses.
  • On iPhone, update to the latest version of the game (it updates itself) since several touch fixes landed on 12 Oct.

Two co-op achievements exist: In good company (play a group game) and Loyal partner (10 group games). See achievements.

FAQ

How do you play PokéSurvivor with friends?

Sign in with a cloud account, open Friends, add your friends by nickname, invite them to your room and start the run. Up to 4 players can play together online.

Can guests play co-op?

Co-op and leaderboards require a cloud account (name and password or Google). Guests and the offline itch.io download are solo only.

Is experience shared in co-op?

Yes, experience is shared, and you can revive a fallen teammate by standing next to them.

Why does my co-op room keep retrying?

Players connect directly browser-to-browser. If your networks cannot reach each other, since 12 October the room says so and keeps retrying instead of falling back to a slow relay.
