PokéSurvivor tips and tricks

Last updated · Unofficial fan guide · Facts checked against the official site and game source

25 practical tips, grouped by topic, all based on how the current version of the game actually works.

Movement and positioning

  1. Never stand still. Wide circles pull the horde into a single line behind you.
  2. Circles and lines filling up on the ground are attacks about to land. Step sideways out of them.
  3. Walls and trees block enemy projectiles. Break line of sight against ranged attackers.
  4. Water slows you (unless your partner is a Water type, which swims at full speed); lava burns you and enemies alike.
  5. Lure hordes across traps, since traps damage enemies too.

Combat

  1. Kill healers and shield-casters first. Healers heal more the harder you hit, up to a cap.
  2. Switch to a super-effective move when a single-type horde shows up (×1.6, up to ×2.4 vs double weakness).
  3. Use weather: rain boosts Water, sun boosts Fire, sandstorm boosts Rock/Ground/Steel, snow boosts Ice, fog boosts Ghost/Fairy/Psychic.
  4. While a melee move is active you take 25% less damage, which is handy when you are cornered.
  5. Bosses enrage at half health. Hold your strongest evolved move for that phase.

Cards and evolutions

  1. Take a Power card early: 24 of the 59 evolutions need it.
  2. Finish one evolution before spreading upgrades across many moves.
  3. Use your free card reroll per run when a level offers nothing your build needs.
  4. Buy Ban levels to remove moves you never want from card offers.
  5. Set move shortcuts per Pokémon (Upgrades screen) so your main move is always on the same key.

Coins, tickets and progression

  1. Chase the Meowth or Gholdengo that runs away loaded with coins during events.
  2. Amulet Coin gives +50% PokéCoins at the end of the run; Lucky Egg gives +30% experience.
  3. Do your 3 daily and 2 weekly missions; they are the steadiest ticket source.
  4. Upgrades belong to each Pokémon. Concentrate coins on one or two partners.
  5. Open locked chests (stand next to them a few seconds) for held items.

Settings, mobile and saving

  1. Play on mobile in landscape, and install it with "Add to Home Screen" for fullscreen.
  2. Turn on automatic graphics quality if the game stutters; enable reduced screen shake if it bothers you.
  3. Create an account so your progress is saved in the cloud. Guest progress is not kept, and the offline build saves only in that browser.
  4. The game updates itself: in the menu within 5 seconds, or after your current run.
  5. Clearing your browser data wipes local saves; cloud accounts are safe.

Put them into practice with a build, check the tier list, or revisit the beginner guide.
